Stratford’s Chocolate Trail is Calling all Chocolate Lovers to Indulge this Autumn

Posted under FEATURED, FALL FOR STRATFORD on Oct 8, 2020

Calling all chocolate lovers and autumn dreamers, there’s a chocolatey adventure waiting for you in the beautiful city of Stratford, Ontario. It’s called the Chocolate Trail.

The Chocolate Trail is a self-guided tour, introducing you to delicious chocolate-inspired treats while visiting a variety of unique Stratford locations. The tour includes 20 stops to choose from that you can visit, map provided, and six passes. Simply redeem your passes at your participating stops. How will you decide? You may need to review the list in advance.

Although the trail is available year-round, it’s a great Fall activity since you can still enjoy a bit of the sun’s warmth while you travel from shop to shop, try yummy chocolate and also check out the beauty of Stratford and surrounding areas. It’s perfect for locals and visiting family and friends, and you can do it any day of the week, including the weekend.

Getting your chocolate trail pass is super easy. It’s $30 dollars + HST for six passes, which you can pick up from the Stratford Tourism office, or Bradshaws, MacLeods Scottish Shop and Small Mart on Sundays. Each location offers different hours and availability, so you can pick up your passes when the timing works the best for you.

Every stop is unique, so your chocolate experience at each will be unique as well. This isn’t trick-or-treating where you get the same treat at every stop. Okay, well maybe it is a bit like trick-or-treating, but for adults. And no costumes are necessary.

For example, Black Swan Brewing Co. gives you a pint of their Porter Brew, which has notes of chocolate and coffee for a rich and smooth taste.

Other unique gifts on the chocolate trail include retro chocolate bars, mini chocolate bars to pair with wine in a reusable wine glass, homemade chocolate-shaped masks in typical Stratford theatre-style, Ontario-made honey with dark cocoa and so much more!

Before you know it, you’ll have a full bag of items to bring home and enjoy. Who needs dinner when you’ve got chocolate beer, cookies and honey? That’s a fully nutritional meal, right? Treat yourself!

The best part about Stratford’s Chocolate Trail is that there are so many other ways you can also enjoy your time while visiting. You’ll need an entire weekend, at least!
